Now, even though this is a roof-mounted bike rack, we're gonna be talking more so today about the compatibility with platform racks. As you can see here, I've got it mounted onto my Front Runner bed rack. It was a great fit. There's a couple different ways that you can mount it on a lot of other racks, but specifically on the Front Runner rack, you will have to use the bar mounts. more

Now this is gonna be a great option for you if you're trying to go out on a bike ride and you wanna put your more light duty bikes on top of your roof, or in some cases, you can put this on a ladder rack or a bed rack if you have one of those. We just have a roof rack today, but it's gonna be the same either way, so let's check it out. With it on your roof, this is probably gonna be the highest it's gonna sit on top of our vehicle and it is gonna be really hard to reach. If you're going out with a friend and you have two of these on here, I'd recommend you both helping each other to get this off. If you're looking for a way to carry around some extra cargo on your Ford Escape, whether it's because you have a long road trip and you're running out of space inside your vehicle or maybe there's just some large bulky items that you'd prefer not dirtying up the interior of your car, that's where a basket like this comes in handy. It's just gonna be a large basket, so your items can get piled up on top of it, but you do have to be mindful that since it is open to the elements, you have to be considerate of those elements and making sure that everything is strapped down. Yakima HighSpeed Roof Bike Rack Review - 2021 Kia K5- Video

How's it going, everyone Today, we are going to be taking a look at the Yakima HighSpeed Roof Bike Rack, we're gonna see how it fits on our 2021 Kia K5. This will be a great option for you if you don't mind removing the front tire of your bike, so that we can use the forks to mount it to the rack. You also do need a roof rack system in order to get this up on your roof, but it is a great option in the event that you don't have a hitch, maybe your hitch is already occupied or you're towing something, so we can take a closer look at how it works. Like I mentioned, here we have the fork mount, so right now it's working with our nine millimeter quick release, but it will also work with a variety of thru-axles, just make sure you check the product page at etrailer.com to get the right axle or fit for your bike size. In this case, we do also have this torque lever or knob here that we can tighten up, and it will make a sound, an audible click, once it gets to the desired torque, that's how you know that it is where you need it to be, and we have this up here, which we can replace with a metal lock core if we want to to secure it. Up to that point, you won't be able to release the bike from the rack. more

Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at how the Piston SR Roof-Mounted Bike Rack fits on the 2021 Volkswagen Jetta. So for your Volkswagen Jetta, it is a really nice car, especially this one, because you have that GLI and you're sporty, but your options for carrying around a bike is limited, unless you have a hitch receiver. So if you don't have a hitch receiver, then your options are a trunk mount or a roof-mounted bike rack. If possible, please get a roof-mounted bike rack instead of a trunk mount, just because it's not a hassle, it doesn't take up your trunk area, and you're not dealing with straps and hooks in contact with your vehicle. Now, this is the Piston SR, which is definitely the more premium of your roof-mounted bike racks. So a quick overview of roof-mounted bike racks is most of them require that you take the front wheel off, so they're fork-mounted bike racks, and those are cool too, but then you do take up more time having to reinstall your front wheel once you're ready to hit the trails. more

How's it going everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat Piston SR Rooftop Bike Rack on our 2022 GMC Sierra. So this is the type of bike rack you might wanna use if your bed is full, or if you have some sort of crossbar set up and you don't wanna use them in the back and you already have something in your hitch, it's a good way to get a bike to where you're going and still have room for other things. This roof rack holds onto your bike by two wheel mounts, a dual wheel mount on either tire, which is nice because we have a carbon frame bike here, and it doesn't make any contact with the frame of the bike itself which could potentially damage the frame. Additionally, this does support a weight of up to 67 pounds, so if you have a larger bike or an e-bike you could actually transport it on your roof. That being said, getting it on and off the roof on a taller vehicle like this has already proved to be a challenge with a lighter bike. more

This could be a good option for you if you're just trying to get one bike rack where you need it to go, but maybe you have something in your trailer already, or your bed's too full to use a tailgate pad, and this could be a good option if you have a roof rack system. It doesn't take up a ton of space on the bars so this could be a good option for you if that's your situation. This bike rack is nice because it doesn't make any frame contact with your actual bike, so if you we're using a carbon frame bike or an alternative frame, it would still work fine for that. The weight capacity is 45 pounds, and it does accommodate a wheelbase of up to 48 inches, so as long as your bike falls within those parameters. more

So for your Nissan Sentra, if you want to also go riding, you have limited options for getting a bike onto your car. Now, you can get a hitch receiver and then use hitch mounted bike racks, I highly recommend that option, but if you don't have a hitch, you're then stuck to either a trunk mounted bike rack or a roof mounted bike rack. In that case, I do recommend getting a roof mounted bike rack just because it's not that big of a hassle and it's safe and secure up top. So for roof mounted bike racks, there's usually two options, one is gonna be a fork mounted where you have to take your front wheel off, the other is wheel mount where you can keep your bike as is, just pop it on there. So this has a very interesting way of holding onto your bike, you have that front hold up there, then, you make your adjustments with this back one. more

We're gonna have three attachment points holding the bike on the rack, a strap for each tire, and then the front wheel mount. Has a weight capacity of 33 pounds, just make sure to not exceed that. Inno Roof Bike Racks Review - 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon- Video

Hey everyone, Charles here at the etrailer and today we're taking a look at the INNO Tire Hold Roof-Mounted Bike Rack on a 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon Wilderness. So this is gonna be a dual tire-mounted bike rack which is gonna be great especially for those carbon frame style bikes, custom paint or odd shape style bike frames, because you're being held on by the tires. It's gonna be made out of aluminum and finished with a black powder coat, making it durable and rust resistant as well. To take the bike on and off is really simple compared to a lot of the other roof bike racks that I've worked on. So your main contact points are just these two wheel mounts and keeping a hand on the bike we can, after we unlock it, lift up on this latch and that is going to loosen up the back tire hole, but make sure you have a good grip because right now your bike is free and all we have to do is wheel it behind and grab it up and take it off the bike. To put it on, we're gonna start with the front wheel and then all we have to do is lift this up just a little bit, lock that into place and now all we have to do is, roll it forward until it stops clicking. more

Yakima HighSpeed Roof Bike Rack Review - 2017 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today I have my buddies 2017 Toyota RAV4 and we are taking a look at the Yakima HighSpeed roof mounted fork mounted bike rack. There are gonna be two HighSpeed roof rack kits on our website. The one we're looking at today gives us two options for mounting. Right now we're utilizing the T track on our aftermarket bars on our roof to get it secured down but it's not going to make it any more low profile than these straps that come on it. Normally these are very low profile but the one reason why the T slots are very nice is notice how it's mounted right above our tower. So we can fully utilize our roof rack system with the T slots. more

Today on my buddy's 2019 Toyota RAV4 we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima Highroad Roof-mounted Bike Rack. The Highroad is gonna be for you if you don't wanna modify your bike for it to go up and get secured down on a roof-mounted bike rack. I'm comparing this one to a fork-mounted option. You're gonna have to remove the front wheel and store that somewhere. With this one, you keep it as is, you put it up there, you tighten it down. When you're there, you can just take it right off and go ride on the trails a little bit quicker. more

This is your front wheel mount bike rack and I love any bike rack really that holds it by the front wheel, just to avoid clamping down on the frame. Especially good for your carbon fiber frame so you don't warp or damage that. But other than that, you're also gonna have a ratchet strap here for the back tire. They can accommodate your tire widths of up to four inches with a wheel base of up to 48 inches. more

Yakima Roof Bike Racks Review - 2009 Ford F-150- Video

Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com, I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima HighRoad. This roof rack bike carrier is gonna be excellent to go ahead and give you a way of carrying your bike. So, today, we do have it on our RetraONE XR Hard Tonneau Cover with T-slot attachments. Now, you guys don't have to get that, it's an amazing little tonneau cover, does a great job of covering your bed, and as you guys can see, it gives you a way to get a host of different accessories on here, including your HighRoad. However, there's gonna be a lot of different ways you can go ahead and actually mount this, one great way can look at the Yakima BedRock System, that's gonna go ahead and allow you to clamp onto your side rails and give you this crossbar system to go ahead and mount it. Now, of course, you could go ahead and throw it on the roof of your vehicle as well, but you guys can see on the F-150 here today, definitely gonna be hard to actually get up onto. more
